right when the sun is shining

all day, everyday

it’s always snowing in Vegas

when the chips fall, where they may

where the shadows are deeper than thoughts

where the showgirls sing blues in their closets

and all those white snow flakes, can’t hide any traces

it’s always snowing in this desert

where people take chances on living

instead of leaving

where the Joshua trees have given up

and veterans are the beggars

and teachers too

where you can see the world walks by you

and yet it stands still

frozen

just like the facade of an iceberg

while you are knee deep in the fake snow.
